The Metaphor of REST IN PEACE, written by Mkpisi Ndi Egede.

The word RIP has been bastardized to extent that Ndigbo brutalized even the malnourished remnant of it.

When somebody dies, Instead of rest in peace ,it will start with rest in Mortuary,so the person will Chill like Azú Fridge.

Then the family will manufacture enough tears ,sorry no more tears for the death,so we can manage to create WhatsApp group of companies,where we use the name of the death to start fund raising.

That fund raising is debt you will continue to pay until you are too weak to operate your phone, so what's the benefit ?.

What is beffitting burial for a Person who died and wasn't interned at the right time ?.

What is the benefit of packing somebody inside fridge like Azú Fridge?.

Must we borrow ,sale properties,create nuisance just to give somebody what we call beffitting burial and then have unbefitting debt ?.

The decorations around Casket and place of it's display makes burial ceremonial and no longer mourning event.

Canopies and VIP LOUNGE is bigger and better than wedding sef ,and the expense is ear irritating.

The money spent on eateries, drinks, gift, house repainting prior, landscaping to impress guests...makes Burial a unique event and no Longer mourning event.

Such absurdities is why killing doesn't cause goose bumps again ,way before now ,it takes maturity to see corpse,but now ,even children will use meat cleaver to Dissect human anatomy without fear or stress.

We have buried distress over the death ,we invented gross expenditure instead.

We should bring back our respect for the death,not wastage we call burial.

The money we spent on a death body ,if we had spent 20% on the corpse while alive ,the person would've lived more and had Living in peace.

There is nothing like Rest in peace for somebody who died of hunger,who died in penury,who died because there's no money for medication,all the monies used for the burial is just merchandising.

Ndigbo, it's time we go back to Mourning,it shall start with burying of rich people ,so that the  poor will breath a relief and hide under the Cloak of the rich to cut burial obscene .

Good Morning as I wail with hope that even the Church will start doing something about it , tradition will nail it to the cross ,so our land can be saturated with kindness and not forcing boys to go into rituals so they can display money on any family burial events,if none is available, they may even facilitate one.
