 THE LEGEND OF JUNE 12,DEMOCRACY PATHFINDER by Mkpisi.

The Democracy in Nigeria came half way into success after it was aborted in the second Republic by Military incursion ..

 First Republic was during the days ZIK of NCNC vs AWO of AC, that was the days leaders speak from point of unadulterated call to serve.

Well it was truncated because PA AWO felt that he was supposed to be the President and not PA ZIK who Won in all fairness, So after the meeting held at MAPO Hall Ibadan, series of underground aggression came into plots and execution, just to topple the Government of DR NNAMDI AZIKIWE, well some of those Igbo Soldiers Born in the Northern part joined in the Execution of the Coup which they later tagged IGBO COUP, while it should be ANTI  IGBO COUP. 

Well AWO was tried and found culpable, then was sentenced to LIFE in Prison for TREASONABLE FELONY and was placed in Calabar prison to ROT, where General Ojukwu rescued him after he sent emissary to him(General Ojukwu) asking that he should be pardoned, so he can go back to West and pull Oduduwa out of the TRIPOD and that sounds like an Idea, his wish granted, but he reneged once his leg touched the soul of Oduduwa, the rest as how he schemed and get the Minister for Finance is history lesson for another day.

Second Republic was when they brought a School Headmaster from the North Alhaji Shehu Shagari , who by the way may be the most educated out there at that point in time, which they appointed Sir Alex Ekwueme, IDE of OKO, who was an Architect of International repute, who drew the Maps of a Developed Nigeria and built every right Edifice in Nigeria in 70s , while PDP which he founded picked a Northerner as the flag Bearer, he gave a support of 2 Million Naira which is equivalent of todays 20 Billion Naira, not because he has motive but because he can and he is IDE, so naturally Shehu Shagari picked him as Running mate, as a Man who has academic laurels, who is academically sound and will dot all i and cross all T in Governance, that way the glaring vacuum that will occur as the result of having less Academic qualified as President will be covered with steaming blanket provided by having a qualified Vice.

Then in 1983/84 (December 31st) the Military truncated Democracy and brought Military fiat, which brought intense hardships (In plural), brought WAR AGAINST DISCIPLINE but called "Indiscipline" just to pull Wool over the eyes of the World.

That Military incursion lasted for years on end, even though they tried to metamorphose into Dragon with Feathers of Dove (Military with Agbada), that was put paid by Apple and Indian Maids.

The Democracy we tend to celebrate today was as a result of..

Professor Humphrey Nwosu (born 2 October 1941) was chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) appointed by President Ibrahim Babangida, holding office from 1989 to 1993.

 He conducted the said election on 12 June 1993.  which was seen as the freest and fairest election to date, in which Chief Moshood Abiola was presumed to have won.

That brings to question, the First time an IGBO served as INEC Chairman, he conducted the freest and fairest election, not minding that it did not benefit onye Igbo or even with onye Igbo on the same ticket, so what gives that this Nation don't want right things to be done?. 

Is it not established that if you put PMS into your Car, it will take you to your destination, but only in Nigeria do we use WATER mixed with Kerosene trying to power a Car, read my Lips, the best we can get is knocked Engine not a moving Car. 

Back in the days before the advent of Caucasians who came to turn Blacks against each other, Ndigbo has a Democratic setting that works with perfection as the Powers are given to elders and never in any one man hand. 

Elders sit in counsel and before you are judged good enough to be among the Counsel of elders iga asa ire (You wash tongue traditionally ), that way you can't speak evil or lie, if you dare your Tongue will Choke you. 

That was a way of life before the Caucasians came with Aruru Ani where they gave powers to Rogues, Efulefus, Ofogeli and Ndi ajuru Aju as in Warrant thieves or call them Chief for courtesy sake,  that started the indecent Political Tufiakwa that runs around today. 

After that desecration created by Caucasians, the North take it deeper by energizing known Ekperimas in Alaigbo with intense political clout, they hoisted one in OGUTA to rubbish De Sam Mbakwe, the Man was so wild and Evil that he was above the laws as far as Alaigbo is involved. 

Abacha empowered one who swore that if Abacha fail to be Civilain President he will die... Well he rolls like that without historic footnote, or like Ekpere na Abu provides "Nani Oru ayi, ka aga eji cheta anyi". 

Another in IMO STATE whose fathers Corpse where stolen and made object of ridicule. 

OBJ empowered one who wrecked an entire state, set it ablaze and nothing happened because he enjoyed the backing of outsiders who uses him to set his own Kins on Fire. 

One thing is assured, check all of them, they live a miserable aging life, and they don't have offspring that will carry on the illicit life they grow, many can't even have a Son who will stand in the gap and say "I am my father's son". 

Back to Democracy day, the Nation should be thankful to that Professor Humphrey Nwosu for he carved our Politics in Gold and show that Ndigbo truly are Golden. 

Finally may I say without pride as onye Igbo, which we are supposed to be proud because we have it and we flaunt it.. 

But I can't show my pride now as I say.. If Nigeria truly want this Sick nation to be well, they need Ndigbo at the center of Economics, Management and Policy making, it may sound like a tall dream, but take it to the bank.. If your Car  is out of Fuel, no matter the liquid you conjured and put in the Tank, it won't start, until you clean the Tank and put PMS, that's the only way it will be Car again. 

What Nigeria should do is simply, hand the fractured Nation to those who has the Powers and requisite powers to put life back into her.
