WHAT is the Present Status of ORIENT PETROLEUM,our own CRUDE, written by Mkpisi.

Anambara was included in Oil production state by effort and making of Gov Peter Obi,He bought and compensated for all the lands mapped out and used for the ANAMBARA AIRPORT through the effort of Bar Afuba the then Attorney General and commissioner for justice of the State.

The place was scheduled to be ORIENT OIL AIR STRIP where Cargo planes will be landing to take Aviation Fuel and other Fuel Evacuation, but Peter Obi as the then Governor felt it will be more beneficial to the state as Airport and will serve dual purpose.

Lands were negotiated and obtained ,but the cost of Building the airport wasn't sitting well with the calculator of Gov Peter Obi and he said and I quote "The cost of Building that airport can't be recovered in the next 100 years " and he shelved the airport plans.

Thanks to Gov Obiano who built the Airport and made sure it was in use before he left Office.

We obtained the Requisite license and ownership through combine effort of Governor's including Gov Obiano,but since then , everything seems to die natural death.

The most insulted Governor in history of the State, Gov Mbadinuju obtained 2 oil blocks for Anambra State from federal govt OPL 915 & 916 , but the fact and the history was consigned to dustbin, owning to Centrifugal understanding of Politics, especially in a state where Zoning and Denominational politics takes the Oscar.

2. Civilian General Chuma Nzeribe was solely responsible for developing the petroleum unit and recommended the appointment of Mrs. Oby Okoli (nwunye Bilante) as Special Adviser 

3. FGN/NNPC gave Anambara bill of $12M each block. 

Gov Mbadinuju and Chuma Nzeribe went back to plead for concession, and President Obasanjo reduced it to $3M per block with condition. 

4. Chuma Nzeribe made a presentation that ANSG will

- Refine the crude locally instead of piping to the coast for export

- Build gas infrastructure since the block is more of gas than crude

4. This aligns with Obasanjo original idea of setting up NNPC to refine crude locally and dominate the market

5. Gov Mbadinuju & Nzeribe incorporated Orient Petroleum and its associated companies to drive this vision. The value of the 2 Blocks today is in excess of $2B.

 Chuma Nzeribe ,an Israeli trained security expert masterminded the appointment of Mrs. Bilante younger brother, Mr. Nwawka, as first MD of Orient Petroleum. 

2. He was then GM at Shell Petroleum in Warri. 

3. Mr. Nwawka secretly provided ANSG with the proprietary data on the oil reserves in OPL 915 & 916 with which was used in making the application to Mr. President.

Now , counting the blessings that comes from the Oil and it's surrounding,can we say that the effort worth it or can we say ,it was a wasted effort?.

Well ,let's keep the history alive ,so that our Children will know that we have history.

KEY NOTE ; ANAMBARA started receiving dividend as Oil producing state few months after Gov Obiano left office .

So Gov Soludo have been receiving cartons of Money meant for oil producing states, but we have not heard of it,I ask because he said he will run transparent Government,and I ask where is the transparency on the Crude oil account and also the special allocation for Anambara as Oil producing state?.

 Little wonder he called us " Illiterate Population of Anambara State" (IPOAS) and he is right,as we can't ask probing questions.
